    HI all
could someont tel me how to design a coil for metal detector according to the metal detector operating frequency
as you know there are alot of coil calculation online
    thanks alot

    Hi,
from my experience in the topic I must say that 99% of calculators will fail to provide you accurate data for making coils.

They are useful, of course, but just will give you an idea of e.g. number of turns required.

You'll usually made 10% more turns and then try reduce them to match frequency or inductance required. It's mostly trial and error procedure, long, sometimes also boring but required to gain perfect coil data.

The last 1% of "calculators", or solvers...(they solve differential equations numerically) are actually very accurate simulators that will solve for inductance in really accurate way, sometimes in the 0.1% range: but there's a tradeoff... you must then realize the coil in a very accurate way to get that minimum tolerance in the real stuff... that's not suitable for most of handmade/homemade coils.

    Kind regards,
    Max
