If you have a coil and you want to duplicate this coil I follow the following procedure . You build an oscillator ( say like in the Gatowski book in the schematic of the BFO detector ).This is an LC oscillator . By substituting the unknown coil for the existing coil you get a cetain frequency reading ( on your frequency meter ) . Mark this frequency down and start winding your substitue coil untill you hit the same frequency as the unknown coil . The wire diameter is of influence ofcourse but in general this wire is known to be about 0.20 -0.28 mm . You will see that you are comming pretty close to what you desire . The frequencies are not important as long as you make them both the same . Kees
