Now that I've made a working VLF DD coil , how do I make it better? Whats the procedure to follow to make a larger coil? How do I increase the windings and still keep the same inductance or is that the wrong approach? Need help-Joe

Re: DD improvemnts
Joe, it's usually easiest to increase the coil in size and keep the parameters as close to "factory" specs as possible. That means increasing the number of turns of wire to get the desired inductance, but also might mean moving to a different size wire to keep the Q about where you want it.
That being said, keeping close to factory specs for coils that are larger (or smaller) is not necessarily necessary (is that grammatically correct?). A lot of trial and error is what it takes, and I think you'll find that a good working coil on paper isn't necessarily good in the field, and vise-versa. Some of my best coils in the field have been ones that I just about tossed on the bench.
