How do I make the a coil deeper seeking?

Once I have made the coil dia larger and with more turns, how do I get the Inductance back down closer to the factroy specs? What other ways can I improve a coils performance ( mainly talking VLF)? Joe

Put simply.. YOU DON'T!! Could try THINNER wire though.

You COULD try putting a preamp on the receive coil side and driving it from the TX signal (a la Minelab).

ONE other thing you COULD try, and I don't think I recall anyone doing it, is to get some shaped FERRITE and try to direct the whole of the TX signal into the ground rather than have half of it going into free space.

My guess with the above is, you're gonna need to be built like Arnie to swing it!
