I just did an "in-circuit" measurement of the new Tesoro Compadre 5.75" coil. There are probably capacitors across the coils so probably affects measurements. I don't yet know which is the TX or RX coil.
Coil 1: 19.3 ohm, 5.5 - 5.7 mH orange/black
Coil 2: 29.1 ohm, 6.1 - 6.3 mH purple/gray
I measured the inductance with two different meters. The lower values were from what I think is the more accurate meter.
There are only four leads going into the coil cable from the PCB. There is no shielding connected to the PCB.
The 29 ohm pair of wires is a twisted pair going into the cable.
The 19 ohm pair is orange and black. The black wire is encased in another gray insulation sleeve, which does not appear to be shielded, but hard to tell. There is an unused green wire in the cable bundle.
Some day I may probe the magnetic field to confirm where the coil windings are. My guess is that it is a concentric coil design.
Cheers,
