    Re: Coil - PI

    Hi,
Have you some value to give us:
external diam , wire diam , inductance in µh, capacitance in pF.
As i haven't for the moment a tools to mesure the capacitance and the inductance value, i can't give you value from my coils.
I have in project to build the EPE Febr 2004 tool.
    thanks.

      Hi!
      External diameter 27cm
Wire a diameter 0.7mm in plastic isolation
      Resistance 1.4 Om
The coil was tested with the detector Skif_PI
      Result - copper coin by a diameter 25mm - 300mm by air

        Re: Coil - PI

Take a glimpse to the PI forum, page 2, the November 23-rd, "New coil" and "Technology". There is scanned the original article. Sid

          Hi Sid,

can you post the pictures again. They are no more on the PI forum.

          Thanks Chris

Please, yes is true. Many photos on PI forum are not available (???).

              Re: Coil - PI

Interestingly enough, this isn't anything new.

Back in the 30's and 40's, they sometimes wound AM Antenna coils this same way in the old tube radios.

Found in a technical museum. The first coil is the "spidernet", followed by Lorentz coils of the first and the second order. The voltage peak with such a coil makes the halfwidth about two microseconds and take care of FET driver, the voltage peak can rise over thousand volts. Sid
