help please with 7 1/2 inch tesoro widescan coil

useing this coil for my bandido project took the connector of found
Grey pin 4, Purple pin 3, shield pin 5, Orange pin1
chopped off the connector, cut back cable got 1 extra wire green is this the shield wire

The green wire is not connected to anything. It's just an unused wire.
