I would like to know how your coil with the 250 uh inductance and 18 turns of 30gauge kynar wire works for you and on what detector? Thanks William

Better late than never
I was reviewing the forum posts and saw that I did not answer this question so here it is, better late than never.
The 50' of kynar coated wirewrap just makes 18 turns (with two 1.5" leads) at 10.5" in diameter to fit inside a Hays Electronics round 11"" coil housing. I am using it for my modified CS6PI coil that operates at 13,300 Pulses per second, about twice the stock frequency. The coil operates at about 7.5 uS. I tried several diffferent coils that seemed to cut out as I raised the frequency and reduce the delay, indicating that they are not fast enough, having too much capacitance.
The 18 turns makes a mono coil of about 290uH. I use 3M 1190 copper fabric tape as a shield. One interesting thing about this tape is that it cannot be detected by the CS6PI, even as the fastest delay setting. It is important to use 1/4" OD plastic spiral wrap between the coil and the shield to add some space to help minimize the coil-to-shield capacitance.
