What can be expected if a large 40" x 40" coil is attached to the White's TDI? Will it work like an ordinary PI such as the Pulse Star II - i.e. it will detect big objects deeper and will become less sensitive to smaller objects?

Just to make it clearer - I am talking about a DIY coil for the TDI. I know that one can build a coil for this detector easily, but I don't know what to expect. I need it to skip the small objects like nails and coins and only detect bigger objects, as deep or deeper than the standard 12" coil.

Without these it's like hitting a coke can with a rifle at 1Km.
Some do, but how many ?
You must restrict field and study better the problem there.

Why not ?
I don't know the word "impossible".
But if you ask me for general user/experimenter ...well I don't know.
Kind regards,
