I'm in the middle of building a Hammerhead and with my penchant for getting in way over my head, I guess the next step is gonna be my own coil. After reading about coax cable with a multistrand center conductor,
I got to wondering about using one loop of this coax cable as the loop for a mono coil. I'm thinking that the coax shielding could act as the rf shield while the multistrand center conductor would act like a normal multiloop coil, but with the loops in parallel instead of in series (I'm still hung up on that idea). A design based on this would be limited by the # and guage of the stranded center wire, and the eddy currents and inductance factor are kinda questionable, but construction would be simpler. Anybody got any thoughts or isights on this?
