Hi. This coil (BBS 1000) seems to be the same with the Tornado BBS 1000 that it used by the Sovereign

Oh, no These coils are produced, as you can see on the site, from 2002, or maybe earlier, don't know exactly I put this site here only for your information, because these coil housings are cheap - between 3-5 Euro in the SHOPS!!! But from some other producers they was offered
more, more expensive in some forumsfor example russian

i do not know what you mean wrote russian. yes, i read feedback of Ciklon about these coil housings he got from anyone in Bulgaria... he critically wrote that they were done from thin plastic.

Thin? No, don't think so, but you have right about the criticism - maybe are made from reciclat

                  Hello,

I measured around 400 mV at preamp output, can I consider my 8" excalibur coil well null balanced.
If not what can I do, I opened the coil, still functional, I can see the 8 shape small coil in serial wit Rx to null balanced and make all the measurement before the amp op
                  Thx
                  Philippe

If preamp has a gain near to 40 then the output of coil is about 10mV. It is not so good for a commercial coil , but if you see it from the other side... not so bad.
I don't think that you can do many things...
You can try to put a small coin on the coil and to move it left ... right.... etc. If you see a better null then glue it on the coil.
But i am not sure if it will work.
