Using a Whites Coil on a Wilson R&C 4.......

..................It will only work in the All Metal Setting.....once the discriminator dial is cranked up the detector stops working!! WHY Does it do this??........Can I do some modifications on the coil to make the detector work in all of the Discriminator settings?? Thanks Joe

I had such a problem years ago with White's 3900. The reason was increase of coil offset and saturation of preamp.
