Looking to build a sov coil. Any info would be appreciated. Wire type? Amount of turns? etc.

I did find this:
TX & RX coil inductances are given, but not turns & wire gauge. I tried measuring the inductances on my Sov coil, and I think the TX coil was about 1mH, but the RX coil cannot be measured without cracking open the coil, which I am not willing to do. If anyone has a junk Sov coil they want to donate to The Cause, I'd be happy to do the work.

Thanks Carl for the info. I have since found a dead coinsearch and have been using that for my measurements. First attempted coil worked well but was too heavy. Used some 13/30 on the TX and some stranded 30 on the receive. Had to use the pre-amp from the trashed coil to get any decent results as depth and sensitivity were terrible without it. Not too sure if that pre-amp can be eliminated as someone else had stated here. Waiting for some lighter wire to come in and I will try again. I've gotten away from it a bit as I have been building a 16DD for my pulse which I'm just about finishing.

Thanks to all the input I have received here to I have been able to build a Sovereign coil. I decided to use a 14x10 Hays Electronics housing because I had one left over from my PI coil building project. This Sovereign coil goes real deep on coins and nickels. Plus it is extra sensitive to small gold. Easily better then my S-12 or my Tornado coil. My first field test yesterday has confirmed what I was getting from doing simple air tests. It is also very stable and quiet in and out of the salt water.
For those who are trying to build your own, I found it neccessary to use the pre-amp circuit board robbed from a dead coinsearch. Try as I may I cound not get a functioning coil without it.
