If the terrain is "heavy" or there are a lot of ceramics or you want to use a bigger coil then the TDI is the Must!!!
Also you can look at Whites V3

    Geo,

I thought I may have seen a post somewhere about a mention of your tdi with the 1x1 coil, but now I can't find it.
Since you've put it together, have you used it much and how deep does it go through the ground? How deep are the iron boxes you must have been pulling up? Do you find it comparable to the eastern 1x1's?

      Hi.
I have try a iron box (dimensions are about 30x25x15 cm) at depth of 1m and 1,5 m and very "heavy" terrain with very good results.
Also i tried a 4galon barrel at 2m and very heavy terrain but without results. I did not tried it at normal terrain. At air TDI detect it at 3m+ distance.

Thank you, Mr. Geo. That sounds about what I am looking for.

DO YOU THINK THAT 1X1 COIL CAN WORK IN MY MINELAB GPX 4000?????THANKS.....

The minelabs multifrequency machines like the etrac and the quattro were always weak on gold anyway, done many tests with them, there great with silver in fact proberly the best, but far as gold they come way down on the table compared to white DFX etc.
All my tests were done in real situations ie buried in farmland.
Im starting to swing over to the older non motion machines like the Arado but need to do many more tests.
Also take in mind what has been said earlier on here, different machines will act differently in different situations thats why its better to own a few machines to play about with.

Minelab GPX4000 who interesting Takhslambos is not a multifrequency machine. It is a PI detector with very good performance (maybe with the best depth at good conditions).

I must admit Geo i have only ever here good about them although never had the chance to try one myself, the only draw back with these Pulse induction machines is there lack of discrimination which here in england is a must because we have so much iron in are soils, saying that if i lived close to beaches where I could get nearer the sea away from the crap id proberly have a field day with one of those, but far as are inland its normally a no go .

Unless things have changed with the PI ?

Minelab GPX has the ability of discrimination. It is not the best discrimination but it is good.

Hi Geo. Can you to put a photo inside of your TDI detector? Preferably the front and back of the PCB. Best regards.

                        Here is the top side.
I will look for the back side....

Sounds a bit vage Geo you say not the best but good , what is good ? either it has disc or it hasnt, are you saying its a half way house ie maybe its iron but maybe not, so lets dig 1 meter and get a heap of crap or lets dig 2ft and get a silver 3d, or is it lotto you take your chance like the BFO type format, im not been sarcastic just a man wanting to learn because I never owned and used such a detector, If the minelab gpx had even moderate discrimination im sure the price would double due to shortage of them on the market because we would all want one now this minute.
I for one is sceptical far as minelabs claimes but I am willing to be proved wrong, so be a salesman/engineer and convince me different.

Sorry if i can't give you very good explain.
As you know all PI detectors can't discriminate. There are few models of PI who can make a discrimination (other at ferrous and no ferrous and other at low and high conductivity). Minelab has (maybe) the best discrimination of all the PI detectors BUT it has not so good discrimination as a VLF detector.
This is the reason that i wrote "good". Of course the price is very high.
