  • TDI coil 1x1 m.

    Hi.
I made the big coil for my TDI and i took a video (5.5MB) with a test.
TDI with big coil is fantastic......
    How i can upload it??????
    Regards

    Congratulations Geo.
    Right things.

You can upload on Yutube and then put link here. Or maybe admin can help you.

                Nice video Geo.

Are you willing to give us data of your coil and connection scheme?

                Thanks.

If you can wait some days, i will try to make another better test so to tell you with sure about delay......

                    Hi WM6.
Because weather is bad (i will be late to make the other test, i will give details of coil now).
It has 9 turns with No22 AWG Silver Teflon Wire 19 stran.
After it i closed up with 2 spiral wrap and later i shielded it with scotch 24 tape. The final inductance is 360uH on my inductance-meter (original coil measures 336uH). When i made the test i had the delay at 17.5us, but i did not see any difference when i tried at 10 or 25 us.

                    Regards

Thank you Geo. I am interesting in Whites TDI as many of other members here, I assume, so all your data and reports here will be highly appreciated.
                      I wish you happy hunting!

Maybe it is better to use 8 turns, so the inductance to be exactly the same. Now my coil has a resistance of 2.8Ohm (i measure to the connector and when i short the multimeter wires i read 0.6Ohm) and the prototype 12" has 3.3 ohm, so i need to use in series a 0.6 ohm resistor. When i took the video i had not this resistance in series with the coil.

                          Hi Geo!

Nice video. This is the detector you win?

                          Regards

                            Hi Esteban.
Yes, this is the detector that Carl sent to me!!
I use for the test a cofee can with 10cm diameter and 7.5cm height.
Before 15days about, i made the same test with Superscan. I have a handmade coil for the superscan so i am not 100% sure if i take the full detecting distance, but As is the TDI is the Winner.
You know.... TDI and Superscan have the same designer....Eric Foster.

                            Regards

                              Watch Eric's forum!

Watch Eric's forum to see interesting explanations!
2010 Eric Foster start with Lesson 1 for Voltage Flyback Pulse.
REMI group expects Eric to make something impossible: to explain in time domain something that can be visually analyzed and presented only in complex plane (frequency domain).
