By adding another layer of Scotch 24 shielding tape added another 6 inches of depth on my air test. I was getting 33 inches on a 1/3 of a cast iron fragment of a 12lb Borman cannonball, now I am getting 38 inches on the fragment. Another thing is that the TDI has a smooth threshold, but my discrimination was cut in half but no problem because I will be running all metal mode looking for artillery shells. My setting are in all metal mode is delay 12us, gain 10. On the ground balance the setting is 12us, gain 10, ground balance 6. What caused the depth to increase????. Lamar

I can't understand why the depth increased.
I suppose that maybe the first shield was not good, so you had noise when you adjusted the gain at 10, and now with second shield you have lower noise and you gain depth. But generally... much shield is not so good. -
Every things is running fine on the 18 inch Mono coil for the TDI so I am going
to let everything fly like it is, going to seal everything up an go digging. LamarComment
