  • Concentric (Coplanar) versus Double-D coils

    I found interesting results on this type of coils:
    DD-Coils cause different phase angle shifts (VLF-TR), depending on which side (geometry) the target is presented. The greater the diameter of the search coil, the more this can be measured.

    On concentric coils, the effects are canceled due to the totaly symmetric coil design. Another advantage is the superior temperature coefficient, that brings minimal temperature dependence.
