    Keith,

You will have to take the coil apart. Look closely at the housing and you should see where the two halves are glued. Carefully cut the two halves apart at the glued area with a sharp knife or razor blade type tool.

Once apart, be careful to not let things fall apart. Look closely at the coil. I am not sure just how they are shielding that coil, but they probably have some graphite coated paper or graphite coating on the housing itself. There should be a wire connected to the shielding that is also connected to the shield on the wire. I suspect this shield wire has come loose somewhere and will have to be reattached.

Keep us informed if you decide to take it apart and make sure to take pictures.

Now, once you feel it is fixed, do not glue the halves together just yet. Tape the halves together tightly so things can't fall apart and try it. Once you are satisfied it is working ok, then glue the two halves of the housing back together. If you have an old scrap coil, you can use some of the ABS plastic from that as part of the glue. Take a piece of the ABS plastic, cut it into thin small strips, place in a glass jar and add some MEK or acetone, just enough to dissolve the plastic and make a slurry. Use this slurry as your glue. It will bond the two halves super strong. You might be able to glue the two halves back together with simple PVC pipe glue also if you have nothing else.
