I have recently got my hands on a Eric Foster Goldscan 2.It has got a 8" coil.I would like a selection of coils for it.Does anyone Know where I can get search heads for it please?

Mike,
I did'nt know that Eric Foster had a forum.Yes I have got a downloaded manual for the detector that was sent with it.I have a lot of pasture land leading down to a brook.It was obviously a river at one time.Part of the field was chisel plowed some years ago,but the plan was scrapped because of the sandstone blocks that turned up.I had one or two very interesting finds in the very small area that was plowed.
Hence I know some thing good is down there,but I need to achieve depth to reach it,
All the Best,
Terry.

Telgun,
I found in the WEB a document entitled "Operating instructions for the GOLDSCAN 2 metal detector". It is four pages only (even three and half), and contains no information if the machine can operate with other size and type search coils. If your manual is the same, why you decided that exists a selection of coils for it?
The coil size is limited by conductivity of soil and by size of target. You should not use larger coil in more conductive ground and to search small targets. For better results can be used a DD coil, but you should test how machine operates with it before to pay money.

Hi Mike,
Eric's detectors generally are very forgiving when it comes to the coils that will work. I don't know for sure, but I suspect the coil on the GS 2 is 300 uh. So, most likely about any other coil with similar inductance will work. You might have to adjust the delay a little when trying some coils, especially large ones, but I would guess they would work.
Eric's forum is located here;

If you ask on his forum, please be patient since I know Eric just returned home from an exhausting trip and has a lot to do once he gets back.

Hello. The whole series gs 2, 3.4 and 5 performed primarily to seek gold-nuggets. So the actual gs4 and onada gs5 have improved performance, to work on very, mineralized ground. So that the work done with probes 2ocm diameter and 28 cm. At the four semi gs which is given in Geotech has induced greaska visible. But there are also those which are not seen to At the four semi gs which is given in Geotech has induced greaska visible. But there are also those which are not seen to . So that the finished product from Eric Foster is not the same as the pattern of Geotech .I had the opportunity to see and gs4 and GS 5, so that gs is like 5 approximately minelab 3000 that I tried.
