  • Need Sovereign TX Amp Draw, Inductance, & Signal Type Info

An electrical engineering friend of mine has offered to help me construct an amp for the Sovereign to increase the output power to the TX winding in the coil using an inline 3 cell lipo and a small circuit. There was a commercial product sold at one time that did this but it is no longer sold and expensive anyway. This differs from some "Amps" that just increase the gain from the RX side of the coil. Rather, this commercial product increased power to the TX winding to generate a larger magnetic field and thus go deeper, as well as having an adjustable gain on the RX side of the coil to stabilize the signal.

Since my friend is in another state and doesn't own a Sovereign, and I don't own an Oscilliscope, we need to find out what type of multifrequency signal is being put out by the machine. Is it a square wave, sign wave, etc. Also, I don't have an inductance meter laying around so I need the inductance reading of the TX coil. I could probably use the inductance of the RX coil as well if somebody has it. Only other bit of info that might prove useful would be the current draw of the TX coil.

Thanks for any help in this respect info wise, and I'll be throwing a schematic up once we have something put together.

    Hi.
    Signal is square.
    Tx inductance is 1014 uH.
    Look the Tx schematic
    Good luck.

If you will have good results, inform me.
