Ok,Rov, here! bit more developments n builds, for the Infinium LS pi detector for coils.
a New Bi-Wind,Figure 8 coil for the infinium LS,PI detector.
A long time coming for a larger size 18X!14 elliptical in B Hays housing. Now!
Works a treat, and testing underway, with good start up and running result for depth and sensitivity at this size!
Im very Happy with the testing result to date!
Request for overseas from Australia, testers, and Trialers,Euro and Usa.and other interested,Very soon!
A very limited Batch of coils will be made only! as per my spec.
No intention is made or manufactured to breach Garrett,Infinium for their original property, interlectual.

      Thanks for your encouragements WM6.
no genuine testing in the field has been done.to date!
This preliminarey coil is in testing already by others with Infinium LS PI detectors.
From their result more will be built..
from my original build as per pics.I was very happy!
As per size, weight and performance was very encourage-ing
being 18x14 in size was 60g heavier than a 14x10 original garretts pro DD or the 14x10 Mono..
conclusion was initally, more depth than any Garretts 14inchers,in mono or DD,but sensitivity equal only to 14 inch garretts.Suit more deep,treasure/relic hunt etc. not minute gold nugget under 1g etc.
I can see a usefull use for a coil this size wordwide!
      A bit better than a 14x10 standard.
just they only prototypes only/ but work well!
      regards Rov

Hi ,I now have 3 off these coils made now,but I have a problem finding a source for the garrett 4 pin stepped plug.I cant find any from any source?so only one of my coils has a plug.this is all I have spare.
These must be special manufacture from garrett?

I WOULD CUT A PLUG OF A F..KED LS COIL, LEAVING SOME CONNECTING CABLE AND USE EASY TO GET MINELAB PLUGS. COILTEK HAVE WATER PROOF HOUSING FOR THESE WITH PLUGS INCLUDED. MADE FOR THE ML EXCALIBUR FOR THERE COILS.

Hi PiQuest, this method would involve a change of case socket also to match on the Infinium detectors case.
Ok for me,but not for other users to try and test.they would also have to modify their detector case to suit.

                ROV

YOU STILL MAINTAIN ORIGINAL LS PLUG AND CONNECTION TO CASE. JUST CUT SAY 8"-9" OF CABLE FROM THE ORIGINAL CASE CONNECTORS AND MARRY THE WATER PROOF COILTEK HOUSING IN SERIES.

                  Yes that makes perfect sense,Thanks!
just that other users or builders may not wish to do it this way,an want a dedicated Garretts 4 pin plug.is all on their coil,an no modification or adapter. But I will do whatever is required.

                    Hello Rov
You have any questions about this coil, I only know him through these images.
This coil is an "8" from a single coil?,
                    Has an independent coil RX.
What are the advantages of using this coil?
                    Has Shield?
                    Thanks in advance
                    Jose

Hi Jose, yes it is a single coil in a figure 8 or DD style shell, the single coil or loop inside is Bi wound,2 winds, one for TX and one for RX.together, not DD.(two seperate loops or coils inside)
this is to simulate as the Infinium mono.infinium mono has two winds in one loop or coil together inside.
yes has graphite carbon conductive paint shield.

This is an old topic, but I am wondering if there was ever any more development on aftermarket infinium coils? Has anyone modded a Infinium for better performance? I saw some Westtech coils but they dont seem to be very common.
