  • PVC tube coil with screening

    Hello Friends,

Made a 40 cm square coil, it needed to be screened…. Well look at the photo’s
It can be used for a PI detector.
For the coil that I need it there must be some 140 turns 0.28 mm in it…..I have asked my wife if she has some spare time…. Well you all know the answer I think…..

    Best regards.

        Nice ApBerg!!!

Have been thinking of trying something similar myself but using flexible hose covered in foil tape.

Have formed my PVC tubes - they turned out great, now just got to get the coil in there.

Thanks for your continued inspiration and wonderful ideas

        Regards Jim.

Yes... not for a PI detector.... for a Pi detector not so many turns are needed, think I tray to pull 10 wires in 14 turns, and the connect the ends... hope that works.

Jim; nice that it is a succes, if you shift the T junction over the PVC tube you get a opening, pulling wire is now easy.

            Best regards.

Ha ha ....yes Geo.. it is my coal to make a low freq. VLF coil thinking to make it some sort OO coil for UW use .. put it in some frame so that it can be adjusted.. prehaps even 3 square coils 1 transmit and 2 receive...

              Hi,

I would like to know if you ever tested or what do you think about this kind of pipe which already has an inner pipe of Al:

                Hello Noemio,

It looks nice ! But if there is too much Alu in it......? Think that that can be a problem in relation to sensitivity. Tomorrow go to my daughter and son in law, they have renovated the house heating..... see if I can find some left over tube.

                Best regards.
