how does one read the coil to shield capitance

Hi everyone
Could someone please explain to me how to read the coil to shield capitance of a coil or supply a link.
Also is it possible to do with my multimeter see pic.

If you are building a coil. If you put one lead of your LCR meter on the shield and one on the coil winding you will get your capacitance. You must have your shield wire disconnected from the coil winding. Thats the way I did it. I'm sure if I am wrong, somebody here that is more knowlegable than I will correct me.
