  • Pulse Star II coil on Lorenz Pulse 5

    Hello,

I read somewhere that Pulse Star II and Lorenz coils are compatible, but don't recall where I read it. I don't have a Pulse Star and have never seen one live, but just bought an used Lorenz Pulse 5 and was wondering if I can use PS II coils with it. The Pulse Star is much more widespread than the Lorenz so it is easier to get PS II coils. The Lorenz coil connector is of the CA6 type - similar to this one: http://www.soselectronic.com/?str=371&artnum=38125

Do the PS II coils have the same connector and if I connect a PS II coil to my Lorenz, will it work OK?

OK, I answered my question myself. The coil connectors for Lorenz and Pulse Star II are completelly different.

Now, here are more questions. If I want to build a 38cm dia. coil for the Lorenz, should I be looking to get around 300 to 350uH inductance? And I need a connector wiring diagram. Has anyone seen one?

I read this post - http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17217 , but the info about the coil inductance is controversial.
