  • setting trim pot for ground balance

please can any one help me set up my machine ive had to strip down the coil and do some repairs as its a widescan and the widescan stopped working ,ive now fixed that but noticed when in manual ground balance the dial is in a diff place compared to before,i have hi and low power on this machine in low its fixed ground balance and in high power i have a ground pot,im wondering now ive had the coil off and fixed the widescan on it if it would pay me to set up trim pot on fixed ground balance,as in low power now which is fixed it bleeps on a house brick before im pretty sure it ignored it before, ive seen people setting machines when they have made a coil change to fixed ground machines by crossing the coil with ferrite untill its a clipped sound,is there a more accurate way of doing this as i think you could be leaving your machine either pos/neg shall i just turn trim pot just to the position where it doesnt sound off on a brick,or is there a more precise way of doing this to get the best from your machine, and my machine has no all metal(i can only turn down discrim which even at the lowest setting gives a little discrim not much though)do i set the trim pot with or without discrim, cheers
