I have been reading the fast coil pdf on the website to get some idea on coil making, I am having trouble with the calculation though. The document says the author wound 19 turns of .024 OD Teflon wire around a 10.5 inch form and ended up with a 300uh coil, The trouble is when I calculate it with the numbers provided it tells me it will be a 227uh coil is there something I am missing ?

You also need to remember that most coil calculators do not take account of the insulation thickness. Discrepancies can also occur due to coil shape, cross-section and tightness of the wire bundle.Attached Files

your excellent calculator should be as first (theme or header) in Coils forum, to be constantly available to all.
