  • Telfon wire

    Hi there,

I've built a coil for a DeltaPulse 2 (50cm) and now I'm thinking about building a small one (11") for the unit.I've the chance of getting teflon 30 AWG wire at a good price but I wonder if it's worth to use teflon wire instead of enameled copper wire. What are the advantages of using teflon wire? Is it worth?.

    Thanks in advance.

Well Depending on What Inductance you want, It may be a Very HIGH RESISTANCE Coil.
    Also Heavier
    30AWG is Pretty small.

      teflon wire

Hi chemelc, thanks for the imput.

well I need about 1000 mH and 2.4 Ohms , as far as I know if you want to build another Pi coil you have to keep the same Inductance and resistance value.. Is this correct?

      Thanks in advance.

        mistake

Ooooops a mistake (thanks Majarit for the imput) the correct value is not 1000 mH but 1000 uH (My brain is in auto-pilot mode, it's warming engines..... )

1000uH is pretty high, and will make for a slow response. Teflon only helps (and only marginally) when trying to make a very fast coil.

            Hi Carl,

yes, 1000 uH is very high but as far as I know that is the correct inductance for the DeltaPulse or ¿Am i wrong? reading about the DeltaPulse and asking another members I've seen that most of the people are using 1000 uH as inductance value (it's only the 1/3 of the Surmaster inductance......) and 2.4 ohms resitance value...

            Thanks again
