    Coated with CU and not with isolation paint?

    Yeah, perhaps because copper is better for soldering and its painted, too (or uses other isolation material).

    Let's assume the wire is 1mm thick - how thick is the copper coating layer and how strong the alu core - and vice versa?

    Why they don't use directly some copper-alu alloys?

      Sure it is enamelled.

      I am speaking about "Enamelled copper clad aluminium wire" (ECCA).

      With alloys we lost purpose which is in HF technology better control of skin effect among others as soldering properties etc..

        Nice hitec wires and depending on the amount of windings they could reduce at least the coils metal weight for 50%.
