I'm afraid not. It is up to detector and "locked" features inside it's uPc firmware.
Guys from Garrett can do that easily if they want... only need we to persuade them to do that!

You can ask. They're not speaking to me after I gave them a few dozen improvements to their AT line up and to the GTI series.

Once in the past i asked them for something, which was not so big deal.
        They simply ignored me!
        No response at all!
However, as you see; i am not angry at all.
Fact is that GTI2500 is remarkable piece of electronics and i am always ready to point on that,
despite their not so friendly customer support... at least here, out of major markets...

I'm in Tennessee and can't get a reply. Must not appreciate all my comments.

            Speaking of customer support,
            honor to everybody,
but most polite, literate and friendly response i ever got - was from Mr. Troy Galloway (Troy Shadow).
I will point this each time we do touch similar subjects, no matter the main subject!
Because it is worth of mentioning!

Good customer support should be rewarded. Brad from Garrett is pretty good.

So you are still in USA - main market!
                What me to say?!
My country is also approx 6 000 000 of population as Tennessee, yet much less interesting market that there! (lower standard for sure, among other differences)
If they don't matter such potential market as there... than what we here to expect!?

TN isn't a big metal detector location. Plus, I also had a few dozen alterations to their detectors. Probably insulted them.

Than... Tesoro should put reward on my head!

On contrary, i think they should be satisfied and honored by our huge interest on their ideas and designs.
If Tesoro was crap - i would never pay any attention on it!
But because Tesoro Golden Sabre was extraordinary design (for it's time) we all were much interested here to inspect it more and more and mod best possible.
Same with you, if Garrett was a crap - i guess you would never try to do anything about it.
                    True?

True. Garrett's not bad, just a little behind. I'd love a gti not entirely based off of 10+ year old technology. If anything, make a few nice updates. Why I'm wondering about mods. I want to bring one into the 21st century.

                        Agree.
GTI2500 "engine" is not exploited enough, if you ask me.
They simply "locked" the beast in few very limited presets and that was all.
Instead evolving it further and make newer and more "open" version or model.
I simply don't like new ACE series at all.
Was pretty disappointed when tested few of those.
I do suggest them to turn back to GTI series and make "GTI2800" (for example) which will be the same as GTI2500, BUT with all adjustments opened in full ranges with no factory presets at all.
Nothing else to change, just to open fully all the adjustments, especially Disc function.
Something similar to what White's did at MXT
(although White's is bad example now, because all the Eagle series are already fully "opened" and pretty sweet for experienced operator)...
Aha! One more thing to be done - to toss out "imaging" feature as "speaking" too!
Who needs chatty loudmouthing detector any more and at the same time giving false "imaging" infos all the time?!
Especially on places where is restricted or forbidden to be with it!
                        ...
So GTI is, for real, the beast, closed and locked in pretty "square" user interface... pity!

I agree! It's like a 350 v8. Can pretty much double the fuel economy with some work. I wish there was a way we, the users, could alter the programming, maybe uncage the beast!

If they are smart - they will visit these forums more often and read our feedbacks...
otherwise they will sell just couple of Ace's more and than continue to make only walkthrough's in future...
because "new blood" is already coming and taking (pretty aggressive) the trone!
XP is best example, they came from nowhere and already are the leading one (at least here in EU). Best coinshooters ever made!

                                Minelab is already HUGE!
You don't want to mess with Minelab, because they are too good.
But i was referring my previous analyze more to sudden appearance of XP.
Just wait year or two - XP will conquer USA market like joke!
What still saves major USA MD manufacturers is fact that USA market is somehow still "protected" and need some time for "alien" to come and be fully accepted.
But XP detectors are so good and advanced - those will put concurrents way back pretty soon, even there in USA.
                                Just wait and see.
The way they started... it will be pretty interesting to see further progress in future!
