  • Need Large Tow-able Loop for Aquapulse

Has anyone built their own 48" towable coil for an Aquapulse, or Fisher 8X PI machine? I need one, or looking for help in building one if I cannot find one.

Thank you all in advance for your replies-

Hi Ed, first thing is you will need is the inductance & resistance of the stock coil for whichever PI you decide on. Any coil you build will must have similar values if you want a direct swap.

      Coil

      Frank-

Thank you for the reply, but how do I go about making these two measurements on the coil? What instrument do you recommend and procedure to make these measurement. Also, is it possible to build a large 48" coil for my VLF Excalibur II, the same as the PI detectors? I was told the PI machine are more forgiving in getting them tune, Vs the VLF machines.

      Thanks

Hi Ed, look at the links Carl just posted in another thread: http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18482
