Hi all, Can any one help, original coils are 9 ohm's and i.5 ohm's five inch's round I want them
to be 2 inch's round I tried fine wire at the same ohm's no good kept toning all the time so I increased the winding's and made them 16 and 4.5 ohm's, and then it worked to a fashion. What happens is on full threshold it will tone, but all the time won't release. Any ideas please.

Normally you want to match the inductance, not the resistance. Can you post a pic of the original coil?

      pinpointer coil

Hi Carl. Thanks for reply, It's fine now, what threw me was I had it working only because the leads were only inch's from the circuit board, but when I hooked It up on original lead length
it threw a wobbly. I cut the lead length right down and It's ok now. Arthur
