I've read several discussions about using graphite for coil shields and remember using such a material when I restored a piano years ago. It is called DAG 154:

Seems common for piano repair purposes, but pretty expensive.
Mine dropped off a shelf onto the garage floor and made a miserable black spot I haven't been able to clean off. Too bad they used a glass jar for containment...
