new Legend/ORX or second hand Deus 1

What are your opinions about normal price for second hand rarely used, 6-7 years old(claim from seller) Deus 1
which include remote, standard coil and
wireless headphones.

Also opinion is it better to buy new Legend / ORX or second hand Deus 1.

I see used Deus 1's (not Lite versions) on eBay for $750-$1000. The thing I've never liked about the Deus is that the coils are extremely expensive and limited. Also, I would expect that the Deus 1 is at the end of it's development life. That is, I would not expect much more in the way of firmware updates. That said, the Deus in its current state is an extremely capable and proven detector. But if it were me, I'd probably take a chance on the Legend.

a few years ago every man and his dog had a deus, but i have noticed people replacing them with the newer detectors the legend, minelabs and others.
not deus2 so it makes me wonder, why are they buying something else and not upgrading to deus2?.
also what happened to that other xp machine it was like the deus but white and with different firmware.

I have the Deus 1 for 10 years and don't intend to replace it ever. I have to replace only coil battery though.
During those 10 years i had more than dozen other brands and models along with Deus.
Many good and usable detectors on the market. But i am a slave of habit.
I was planning to "update" to Deus 2 this year. But i am getting only negative feedback so far from those who have it already.
So i decided to wait and see what happens.
ORX is the name of that detector. It is alright. Sort of "reduced" Deus. I have two of such in a "company". People are satisfied.

Carl has good points. Coils for Deus are overpriced. That's partly because the "detector" itself is placed in the coil.
But still the price is decisive factor. They should came up with more "human" approach to loyal customers.
