C Scope VLF 1000

I've rjust bought a bargain, a C Scope 1000 in really good shape taking about its age. Does anyone have any experience with it and tell.me more about it. It seems quite interesting and could it be suitable for beach detecting?

It has ground ballance and uses 2 9v bbatteries. I assume after a good ground ballance it will increase the sensitivity?

On the beach, it will perform better on the dry sand.
