  • BH Fortune Hunter Problem - Help Please

Hello tech guys. I have a 2003 model Bounty Hunter Fortune Hunter metal detector. This thing suddenly turns itself off after about 15 minutes of use. I also have to switch it on and off several times to get it to come back on. It works surprisingly well when it is working right.
I cleaned the circuit board and cant see anything wrong but I'm an amateur. Can anyone tell me what to do? Any ideas as to what might be wrong? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

It does sound like a power issue or a connection problem. I would hook up a power supply instead of the batteries powering the unit. Of course you are limited to keeping the detector on the bench. This would give you a stable power source that would also allow you to monitor the current draw.
