My experiences can only justify these quotes.
Once in the past i experienced indeed nice situation when Mr. Troy Galloway made immediately response to my email and answered my questions.
I was more than positively surprised and satisfied with such professional and customer-friendly attitude.
And than i waited years to pass and another real professional to appear on md market; Mr. Alain Loube.
I sent so far just few emails to XP asking few things; and each time i got immediate reply and help!
Always polite and customer-friendly.

Good starter would be to buy only remote and smaller coil.
Later you can add shaft, larger coil and headphones.
New remote is approx. 600 euros, new smaller coil approx. 300euros.
Second hands should be 30-40% less price.
Best place to look for should be French forums.

I would be MUCH disappointed if it was not joke, let me explain why...
In case that is not joke; it will mean XP took the same ugly neo-globalistic approach and choose the same "road" which Minelab did.
What i mean by this: money hungry beasts, money, money and money.
Instead thinking more on customers ... they are thinking only on their pockets ... already very deep and fed up with OUR money!
Why the hell Minelab made ETrac and later MD3030? Why, when they could make much better and 10x cheaper machine with more and better performances.
Because of the money - that's the answer.
Why using Android&iOS platforms when they can make own "stupid" gadget and put hell of a price on it.
Deus's Remote control (cellphone lookalike box, gadget, for those who are not familiar with it yet) is nothing else but the thing on which you are spending your extra money.
All the "machine" of Deus metal detector is already in coil. So it could easily (and much better with more jingle&bells) be controlled with some smart phone or tablet, than it is done with original XP Remote control.
It's all about money.
Android&iOS application will cost barely 10-50 euros... while Remote (gadget) is having price of some 620e !!!
Same story with Minelab E-junk and JUNK3030.
About XP i am not sure yet what's going on, so these are just my plain assumptions, but for Minelab i am 100% sure because we have already E-Trac and 3030 materialized and sold by extremely HOT prices while their true value is 20x times (and more) LESS.
Let's wait and see what would be next XP move.
Despite this i am still keeping and loving my beloved Deus, of course.
In meantime i am evolving splendid idea and project by which huge "THE END" on current md industry should be put! Once for all.
It is time to send all those fat fish on loooong vacation!
Right now it is not secret anymore... you can anticipate what's going on here...
