There is only one detector better than Deus - it is Deus with larger coil!

  • I'm guessing that after 5 years a lot people will sell the Kruzer
just because the internal accu is dead...
They better should have used from the outside changeable LiPo cells as in ultra-bright flash-lights.

    • This is fun!
I've been constantly criticized for recommending and glorifying the Deus...
I am not the only one though:

The larger the coil, the higher the masking-effect.

The Kruzer has a very good and fast metal-alloy-objects-distinction
(see test-video - link is at the main Kruzer Thread) but depending
on the iron from low level to steel it always can interfere.

Especially if the iron objects are in between the coil and the deeper good finds
instead of just horizontally on the almost same level nearby.
And very deep or weak non-iron-objects even can show up as iron.

Try large iron. Say a horseshoe against a cut half. See what you get. I don't have a Deus or Kruzer to try.

But I bet I know the answer.

The best you can do is half the coil diameter.

I have tried a T2, IDX, GM 1+ with both DD and concentric with coils ranging from 5.5" to 12" the answer is always been the same half the coil diameter.

Recovery speed is something else. This governs how fast you can swing and is machine dependent.

Iron separation (masking) is governed by the coil size. Banging a large coil on here in the UK will not make you find more. Our fields are full of bits of plough, horseshoe and so on.

Depth here is not the limiting factor

Perhaps Ivconic can test it cause so far I also have no Kruzer - yet.
I guess the larger iron- and steel-parts always will mess up the discrimination and id-values.

We'd need a MD combined with magnetometer which offers some field-strength analyzer
so the overall find-signal can get compared to find out if there is only the iron
causes the signal or if there is also some non-iron object nearby or below.

Or a metal detector which only can find diamagnetic metal.
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamagnetism

Another question is - concerning the wireless XP Deus coils:

If would be already a big improvement if all MD-manufactures would start
to use fiber glass or carbon stems instead of these stupid alu-pipes!

Because if this alu thing already is 30-50cm close to the coil and
the coil shifts into a slightly different angle by touching something -
per instance higher grass or small bushes - this creates already a false signal -
            especially if using larger coils.

Vast majority of my finds is dating from period of Constantine The Great.
My house is laying on his paths literally.
I've been doing this for 30 years.
I do know about Constantine literally everything, i could write a book.
He is my "neighbor", born 60km away from me.
So i don't really need any motivation.
I only need to wait until October, since than starts my most favorite period of the year for such activities.
Right now, after 3 months of unstoppable heavy raining, last week is very hot and you can't stay longer than 20 minutes outdoor, without fainting and nausea.
So, my motivation will have to wait...
Until than; i flooded myself with mastering the 3D design and 3D printing techniques.

              ...
About my "most favorite" find of all times; the horseshoe... well!
If i put aside each horseshoe i dug so far; by now i would become world greatest iron tycoon!
I would have my own 100m long yacht and i would cruise around the globe!
Pity... i tossed those each time after the dug.

So, my advice (as an old expert) to a young enthusiast would be: kids; DO collect those horseshoes and DO bring them home!
Pile them and wait. Be patience. Eventually one day; you will earn a fortune from selling that iron!

And as old member here i feel obligated to "blow a whistle" each time i suspect the problems.
I guess you can't read Russian; neither than i. So i used Chrome and translation to read this:

                            • It is "small" Yamaha, 120cca. Nice for going searching.
Several weeks ago i had nice "mingling" with 200hp Hayabusa, the beast itself.
After that experience; this one is a toy to play with.

                              • Do you wanna detect the northern pole or what?
Are you sure this magneto is deeper than any good non-motion IB with large coil -
not to compare with such smartphone-girl-toys like the Deus (means God, OMG)

btw. I have found out that in your region, Ivconic - I like you, really! -
(sorry, but please understand that I hate any unproven LRL-claims)
                                - if we would meet in person we'd have the greatest time ever! -
(I'm even listening to Serbian Turbo-Folk sound while I'm writing this)
Roman horse sandals did not was in use! That's the reason why you
                                couldn't find any of them.

It's crazy how far the archaelogical knowledge is meanwhile,
so someone can grab such info as if it would be grass on the way.

I wish you good luck with other Roman road finds, Ive,
there were also some merchants who buried their whole money
near the way, perhaps you can grab such cache, but please use
the Deus with LARGER COIL! ;-)
