  • They earned serious credit with previous models Gold Max Power, Gmaxx II and Deus (1).
3 machines that made a difference. I had two of them. Still keeping the Deus (1).
So i am almost sure they will easily sell first series in no time.
And than the rest will mostly depends on reports and overviews from the first line of customers.
People who planned to buy Deus (1); now will switch and buy Deus 2.
People who already have Deus (1); will need indeed good reason to switch to Deus 2.
It must make a difference good enough.
And yes, of course; there always be enough wealthy people who can afford buying anything.

          • When the first Deus appeared, after a few months, the first criticisms and objections started because it is not waterproof and because it cannot work in water.
Deus "1" was so superior for searching on soil at the time; that they couldn't find other objections to it ... to those few totally pointless ones.
Because the vast majority of us will never even approach the water in search, let alone go diving and search in deep waters.
Yet someone in XP seems to be hurt by even such pointless criticism so they decided to shut everyone's mouth in the next attempt.
All those innovations related to searching in the water and on the beaches; they don't interest me at all or mean anything to me.
And they just put the main emphasis on those traits in the presentation of Deus 2.
The only thing that catches my attention here is the claim that it is a multifrequency machine.
And of course I support and like the stronger housing which
            is waterproof and stress resistant.
There is a classic coil cable connector on the back. It's for a diving purpose, I guess. Not everything is completely clear to me there.
            I don't see a
coil with cable on offer. Then why that connector?
The LCD remained quite similar to the previous one. I don't like the graphics on it, reminiscent of the one from the ORX model.
Who gets used to Deus graphics,
contrast and layout elements; later it all seems strange to him.
And finally we have an online demonstration of the difference between the "PWM" and "SQUARE" type of sounds generated.
"PWM" is a classic Deus and I like that one the most.
"Square" is softer, "smudged" and irresistibly reminiscent of "muddy" ML response.
Ok, I wouldn't discuss it, some like it, some don't. A matter of personal taste.
And that's about all we've learned so far.
Someone needs to buy it, to have a good will to make a good video and show everything, and only then to find out the details.
When they have already earned so much money on previous models:
            1) They could honor all those interested, at least with a little more detail
            2) They could make a small simulator for pc computers, following the example of Minelab Explorer and E-Trac simulators
            3) They could also record detailed video demonstrations in which all aspects of the new machine are clearly shown
And not to mention more; they could even list all the innovations on the new machine in one short text.
What did we get instead of all that?
Quite mysterious and vague announcements of something.
And to find out more; someone has to pay.
XP has a reputation and credit. But even so; when something like this is presented in this way...
The biggest problem for me is that this is not the first multifrequency machine we will see, so it is nothing new.
The ones we have seen so far have not shown too well.
I'm not saying they turned out badly. But nothing revolutionary good happened.
And while Deus "1" was really a revolutionary thing in its time; i'm afraid Deus 2 won't be anything revolutionary like that.
I would like to be wrong.
I honestly expected color display, GPS, connectivity with Android, Windows and iOS, and very well done mapping apps and software for those platforms.
Either delayed (storing in internal memory) or directly in comunication with Android, iOS or Win portable device; use of GPS convenience.
For example; I go to the field, turn on the machine and go in search. My every step to be recorded with the help of GPS. Each detection signal also
with accurate GPS data, detection type, VDI number, current settings on the detector. In the form of a log file.
When I get back home. I transfer the log file to the computer. I run the software. It open the Google Earth to me. The location is displayed.
            It shows the path I was following. And with each detection signal, a small marker appears in the path. If I click the marker with the mouse;
a dialog with all the data opens; VDI number, detection strength, detector settings. And an empty text field, where I enter my comment about the excavated find.
In addition, photos from that location, which I would like to take with a phone, which is "triggered" by the detector via a BT connection, for example.
At the same time, the phone has an active application that receives signals from the detector for GPS and, if necessary, for the camera.
If we talk about revolution; this or a similar scenario would represent the tip of the iceberg of such a revolution.
Until only 10-15 years ago, you would have declared me as "Jules Verne" ... or "Al Yankovich" (ridiculed and put in an appropriate institution).
But today with these terribly rapid advances in technology; all this is very easy to do. And at the same time very cheap.
Sincerely; I expected at least a small part of this to be seen in Deus 2.
How are things going; Deus 2 is just an addition to Deus 1, for underwater search.
Roughly speaking? Ok, the money they try to take from us is also rough!

            • And I deliberately left the most important thing for the end, what angers me the most in the whole story !!!
              "Heredity" of the coils.
The least they could do for their faithful companions and customers ...
Okay, it's clear that older coils can't work in multifrequency mode ... that's okay.
But when so much money has already been spent buying coils for Deus 1 ...
A loyal customer would be really felt respected if he could continue to use these coils with Deus 2.
345-370 euros for a coil is not small money, not a joke! Man oh man!
Very few customers will be able to keep all that and buy a new machine.
Most will have to sell everything with Deus1 to buy a new machine.
And we know very well how much we paid for it all new ... and how much less money will be taken when it's sold out now.
Another argument more in my eyes against XP.
I also used to adore ML in the past. And now I despise them.
Once they "come off" the ground and make some money ... they become completely different.
Take my word for it; these are the first symptoms of imminent doom.
Some new kids will step on them and send them to the right place.

When use it underwater you just need to run a cable from coil to remote control. It does not need to be connected. It will be a link between the two, like an extension of wireless antenna. I use it before, but not original kit, just a thin coaxial cable. (I think any wire will do)
As for the picture with connector from the back is clear. The red plug i think will be included in the water kit only to make you buy it when diving. The grey plug will come as standard - the purpose can be that the remote can breathe ??

Everyone who is self-conscious, who keeps to himself, wears a mask today! So is Deus 2 too!

In any case; thanks for the explanation! Now at least I understand why that connector and those "plugs" on the bottom.

                  • As for the heredity of the coils...
FT is probably the clearest example of this.
Right now at home I have a Quest X5 that has a small original coil.
And from before, I had a Ukrainian coil for Teknetics T2.
I accidentally discovered that this coil has the same specifications as the Quest coil.
It's just that the pin layout on the connector is different.
It's hard to describe the pleasure when I rearranged the connector and connected that larger coil to the X5.
But that is only part of the story.
A friend sent me a Fisher Gold Bug Pro, just a machine, the detector box, no coil and rod.
So I ordered the coil via Aliexpress.
So the coil arrived the other day. Tried it with a detector and it works great.
Out of sheer habit, I used an instrument to measure the resistance and inductance at its connector.
                    I was not a little surprised, and above all thrilled, to discover exactly the same specifications as on the two previously mentioned coils;
small stock one from X5 and Ukrainian one for T2 !!!
So now I have two different detectors and 3 identical specs coils.
                    With the change of pin layout on the GBPro coil as well as in the GB Pro detector box itself (easier because it has cables from the connector to the pcb);
I get the possibility of interchangeability of coils as needed from detector to detector, easily, quickly and without problems.
Later through correspondence with a friend from this forum; I find out that the coils are also fully compatible with several other different models of Teknetics and Fisher.
Which ultimately increases the list to a choice of over 20 coils with the same specification but different sizes and shapes.
Well, that's something that makes the user happy!

If I ever catch to have the time and will to continue working on IGSL, for example the IGSL 2 model ... I will definitely have no dilemmas about choosing a coil for it.
We know that the hardest part of home made diys is making a good coil. Why bother with that; when there is already a very rich selection of good coils at affordable prices ...
It is very difficult if not impossible to compete in the production of coils with professional production.
And every detector project will have a wider audience and a brighter future; if the coil is available for it anywhere in the world and at a very reasonable price.
So all possible inventiveness can focus only on the design of the machine itself.
And otherwise these coils are very good in terms of specifications. It will suit many ideas.

I had chance to see and test several models from Nokta/Makro.
Simplex+ was kind a disappointing on real soil.
But the price is such that i should not complain, you get enough for that money.
Also i noticed that speaker is often burns at some models and lately mostly at Simplex+.
Is it bad projecting? Or they just stumbled on very bad speaker series.
It is kind a annoying and nonsense to disassemble whole detector, probably destroy front panel sticker, just to replace the speaker.
I had few of those on service, changed speakers and i hate to see how is done. Last one i gave up, front panel screws were so tight and "cemented" so i couldn't unscrew them at all.
I was afraid i will make more damage on enclosure if i continue. So simply i gave up and return back the detector to its owner.
I like Racer and Kruzer though.
But also on one Kruzer i had to replace the speaker.
What's the story with those speakers?!
Or is it audio output so strong and uncontrolled and it simply destroys speakers often?
Kruzer is really good, aside that.
The impression is that Nokta / Makro, after many "birth pains" and even more "pains in growing up",
has finally reached the level of a very serious manufacturer of this equipment.

Some of their models are really competitive in the market and there is not much to complain about.
Maybe they are still wandering around a bit, when it comes to some technical solutions, such as this problem with the speakers, so tighten up screws etc.
I really hate to see front panel screws hidden behind the front panel sticker. I spitted on such idea so many times at other manufacturers too.
They must understand that there are areas and places where is not so easy and affordable to follow regular servicing procedures.
Many customers became unhappy and unsatisfied because of that. For such a trivial and nonsense cause.

But they definitely caught my attention; as with some very good models: so with very logical and affordable prices of some models.
I am interested to see what it is that their new multi frequency detector will bring up.

                      • It is strange that there are no videos about XP Deus 2 yet?
Videos made by first customers, basic demos etc.
What's going on? Nobody have it yet?
Or is it so bad that no one dares to show it?
                        It is a little annoying to have such an attitude towards customers;
you very pompously announce a new detector,
show a couple of scanty information ...
and then for a long time after that you don't sell the detector,
you create a rumor, you play with the nerves of consumers.
Here in Serbia there is an old saying "the mountain shook - a mouse was born"!

                        • If I had to summarize this 2021, in terms of spending money on equipment, my definitely best move was when I got the Quest X5.
For that money, it is definitely the most beautiful surprise that could have happened.
If I was the owner of Quest and one who makes the decisions; the price of the X5 would be at least 3 times higher, if not more.
The next thing that happened well was the obtaining of a Chinese copy of the Fisher Gold Bug Pro model.
A wickedly good detector for very little money.
As an end consumer, it is logical that I always strive for the lowest possible costs and to get as much as possible for the money invested.
So I have no moral dilemmas about this.
I do not support copying and stealing someone else's work, on the contrary, but on the other hand it would be foolish not to buy such a detector if it is already available on the market legally.
I don't even have a minor problem with that; because I didn't even buy it, but got it as a gift from a friend.
It is still too early to make final conclusions for this year, we have another month and so, to change things.
                          We'll see.
                          Let's go XP!
                          Let's go Nokta/Makro!
                          No time to loose!
