That's why is hard to tell exactly.
For example; TX power can be adjusted from "1" to "3".
Also adjustment on "Sense" can affect consumption too; simply because when it is adjusted too high; it is producing constant mum chatters in speaker.
Speaker response affects power drain at audio output. And so on... and so on.
Also, consumption is different if you use headphones instead remote unit. Or using both but listening audio only on one... or both.
There are numerous combinations of the way how you can use XP Deus and also how you can adjust it.
That's from where it comes to different consumption charts.

    thanks ivconic for the info.
when i have been using the Deus out in the field. i have been using it with the Tx power set on 3 and the Sens on 97
this has been giving me about 7 hours of detecting time before the coil goes flat.
i was told by the person i got the coil from, that the coil was 3 year old but had not been used much in that time. do you think 7 hours is still a good length of time. i have no idea on average what length of time a brand-new coil/battery would last using the same setting.

    thanks again in advance.

7 hours in continuity is still quite enough for the very good day outdoor.
Yet it is indicating that coil and battery are not quite brand new.
It's not relevant if coil is not been used for long time as it is pretty much relevant if battery in coil is charged regularly in whole the period.
You can find very useful details on the Internet in articles on Lipo battery behavior, use and maintenance.
It is important to put coil/remote/headphone regularly on charger and keep the Lipo in good shape.
But i think there is still nothing to worry about in case of your coil.

Keep tracking the behavior and when it starts to shorten the charge down to 3-4 hours; it would be the time to replace the battery.

        • I wonder if we'll live long enough to see V4 update ever?
It's only year delay... maybe year and a half. WTF!
          http://www.xpmetaldetectors.com/blog...date_V4_UK.pdf
Must admit that am pretty much tired from various similar announcements...
What do i know? Maybe is time to move on and switch to different (more serious) brand and model.
So far it was good ride, Deus was quite alright.
But maybe is time to move on.

            • Now.. there is very important issue in this story on XP.
              I will try to explain.
If you search the net and especially Youtube; you'll find numerous articles and video demonstrations of V4 update.
Some of those recorded and uploaded by "official" XP collaborators (dealers, sellers etc...), but also some of those recorded and uploaded by unknown people.
              Meaning what?
Meaning that there are "less important" and "more important" customers in the eyes of XP manufacturer.
              Obvious.
So there are "third party" and "premium" customers and areas, right?
(Which would be pretty cretins attitude since such small market as Serbia has sold much more units than some 20 times larger markets in EU)
It is not good and it is not something that will bring them any sympathy from the majority, such attitude.
              This brings up the revolt.
That's why i said it is probably the time to move on and switch to more serious brand.
As for me, i am thinking to return to my "roots" and my beginnings; Fisher and White's.
I will look forward to see any eventual novelties from them.
I will not spend my money on XP no more, that's for sure. It is steel strong decision.
XP Deus will stay on a wall as "souvenir" to remind on fact that there was one nice attempt once in a past...

              P.S.
I don't see bright future for such philosophy, considering the changes announced by Trump, referring to probably most potent market in a world, the USA market. Prices will have to go up. Import will not be that easy. Taxes will be hot.
Next aspect is war with ML. ML is there, strong and aggressive. War is going on.
So... such spitting on "third party" markets will return to them as boomerang soon.

                • i trust deus. very good performance and if is space for free improvement, why not. v3.2 is impressive. only downside is that is fooled by deep rusty iron and big iron (if you use deep settings)

I am still very excited about Deus. It is still the very best (overall, generally) metal detector i ever had. Nothing changed.
It's only the XP company attitude that changed.
That's why i rise revolt and will switch to another brand and model.
Because it is all the same to me; all the sites are so exhausted by now that it does not makes any difference which machine you will use there.
Anyone will do. With anyone the results will be pretty much the same; poor.
So this is not "commercial" thing anymore; this became true hobby in these areas.
And when you take it as hobby; you don't really mind the equipment that much.
More important is hanging out with people, having good time, few beers and bbq in wild nature.
Absolutely the same chances are now with XP Deus and Fisher F2 to make fortune on local sites here in my area.
So there is no sane reason to invest more in expensive toys. Any cheap one will do the same.
Now is maybe a good moment to return to diys and good old times...

Every other brands and models are suffering from the same problem too.
At least from those i saw so far.
Except maybe Fisher CZ3D which was the winner in such situations in most of the tests i have seen and done.
Yet i picked Deus and not CZ because Deus is lightweight, wireless and more comfortable in manipulation.
But CZ is superior over Deus on recognizing deep irons. It's a fact.

Every working detector is my favorite. I don't try to divide detectors on "good" and "bad" nor "favorite" and "not favorite".
It's just the "chronology" and changing models during the years.
I had probably 90 various models so far, each one of those was my "favorite" at the time.
Each one is having advantages and drawbacks.
I am only sorry because i wasn't in position to keep them all in a collection.
To buy next one; most often i was forced to sell present one.
So right now XP Deus and Fisher F2 are my "favorite" because i am having them here with me.
                          ...
Yes seems that V4 update is already available at some "defined" group of people.
Which is not fair towards the rest of us customers.
5 (or 6) years ago i spent 1900 euros to buy complete XP Deus setup; 22.5cm and 34x28cm coils, remote, headphones, two stems, two chargers, two clippers etc...
One of the promising argument to buy it was the fact that i will be able to get free updates regularly as they are released.
V4 update was announced 1 year ago and more. Ever since than we get only side rumors and gossips. Nothing official.
And all of the sudden from recently Internet&Youtube is flooded up with videos and reports about V4 update by many people.
I assume some of those are XP collaborators and have certain advantage in getting the update sooner.
But i don't believe that all those people are exactly "VIP" persons to get the update so sooner than official release will appear.
Also there were several more of such unfair moves made by XP in recent past.
So revolt is growing because of such unfair treatment towards (probably) majority of customers who wasted HUGE sums of money because they trusted in XP.
Was my money worse? Was our money worse or stinking?
Hopefully our money was regular and not that stinking.
After several years it appears that XP is just another money hungry bustard company, following so sick neo-liberal capitalistic doctrine.
                          Many proofs for that.
So i finally can say; F..K them!
There are so many other brands and models on this planet.
                          ...
No i don't know nothing (more than available on Youtube) about XP multy freq coil... NOR i will ever know!
Because i am not interested any more. I don't give a F..K about those anymore.
By now there are two brands on my "blacklist"; ML and XP. Deleted from my mind permanently.

                            • Deus gone "yellow"... so as the faces of my two friends with me on the field that day, who haven't any finds worth to be mentioned (another Deus and X-Terra 70)!
It's almost like Deus tells me "don't sell me! oh please don't sell me! i will be good to you! see what i done!" !
So i will give it a chance a while more... no need to rush.
                              ...
For the record and to keep being fair; gold coin was located together with larger bronze coin in the same hole. Some 25-30cm deep on extremely mineralized and tough soil.
If it was alone; i don't think it would be detectable with 22.5cm coil which i used that day.
Because it is small and tiny coin and gold is pretty tough target anyway.
But it was a lucky shot. Rare case.
Signal was mum and unclear. "Bronze" coin is actually made from alloy with large percentage of copper, not exactly strong response.
That's why i doubt that any other conventional model would make it that day. Deus nicked that small difference though.
