  • digipot installing - need help

    hello

for next project i want to use a digital potentiometer
for example AD5258 or anything else
    from microchip
    maxim
    analog devices etc.

example: i want to replace a 100k pot (maybe threshold )
with a digipot (64 steps up down adjustable)

can anybody explain and give tips to connect that devise instead of a ragular pot

endresult is a foil panel with two little tactile switches for up and down

i hope you know what i mean

i am still at beginning at this moment- will be a new chapter for me

    many regards

I'm sure all the major manufacturers will have excellent application notes on these parts, that are easily downloaded from their websites. The individual datasheets will also give details of any special requirements that the device has. For example, AD have pdf's, webcast tutorials, etc, here:http://www.analog.com/en/digital-to-...cts/index.html

What a brilliant idea, can be then sealed so easily to make waterproof, good one Bernte, shall be following this thread with hawk eyes.
Then after that can use a lineup of LEDs to show detection strenth and it goes on.

Many of the digital pots use standard interfaces so you can program them to be controlled by a uC, or just control (any number of) them remotely on a 3 or 2 wire bus that can't act as an antenna.

Certainly another avenue to consider, got all the original bits for the Barracuda now, hopefully will get chance to assemble over the weekend, once up and running will have a play with your idea.
