  • BF245's c and b together?

quick question if i have a circuit that needs multiple BF245's and i have say 5 BF245b and 2 BF245c will it still work i checked at fairchild all looks very similar what do you all think?

Most probably the key parameter is Vgso, and if a "C" has Vgso too high, your switch will remain switched off all the time. Therefore BF245B

If it will not work, this will be most probably due static voltage destruction and not due "b" or "c" version..

so in other words try and just use the bf245b's for the circuit

          hi
i finish barracuda detector and very interesting for result by BF256,2n3819,BF256B,BF245B
for good detecting Q7 should be BF245B,orBF256B
          and Q3 and Q4 should be BF256!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but yet i detect the coin in 17cm(the air)

          so i want by bc517(except mpsa13)and BF245C

i will take film and put it here.
          regards

Hi mohandes, how each FET suit in some DIY circuit not depend on used FET only, but on others in circuit used elements/parts too.

So particular experience with some parts cannot necessarily be rule for all other builders also.

Congratulations that you solve some step in your Baracuda project.

i sorry but say no to your idea about equivalent,
because i use all and have different depth(not good , at least 20cm , and i shold test by bf245c and chang mpsa13 to bc517 ,maybe better??)

Hi Mohandes, you need to put transistor socket in PCB and test different model version and brand of FETs without desoldering it, cause it is easy destroyable by soldering.

You have a lot of those stuf on eBay. You need to search on eBay using words "transistor socket" or for those posted in last my post search words "single inline socket".

I used those for "butterfly" mosfets to fit into a FT101 front end, and surprisingly got some very good results. Short wave is still my thing, but unfortunately I just can't erect a decent antenna here where I live now.
