Fun part is that the fault in FT101 has lots to do with this topic. A FET or a MOSFET often performs as a switch, and depletion mode devices conduct unless sufficiently negative voltage is applied to the gate. In FT101 I mentioned the MOSFET was pushed to even better conduction, doing nothing, and when a diode is reversed it suddenly becomes incredibly functional. This is the fault that I mentioned:Attached Files

hi all guru
i am sure about the my barracuda detector , it have not good depth
i ask mr wilson and fabian and other they can find a coin at 33cm but i can find it about 17cm in air.
so or bf245c better work equevalent that i am using(look at the pic)or bc517 better than mpsa13,mpsa25,mpsa14
if you check pin gate of Q7 , you can see 11.3volts in wilson barracuda , but in mine is 10volts
and mor important in pin6 ne5534 if you look in mine and wilson you can find the different ,so where am i wrong ?any guru know?

Your problem is not in fet's, use any, A,B,C, never mind, just use same letter for both in integrator. Detection depth is due to poor or overdamped coil, also you have some interference present. Increase dumping resistor until you get waveform like in Wilson' s picture on pin 6 of 5534, and reduce delay until detector still works. This now is good for cola-can detection only.
