  • Require some advice choosing a inductance meter..................

Require some help please in choosing a Inductance Meter for testing coils, have just started building my 1st Mono coil for my Pulse i have the basic build spec ie number of turns and the wire size but i am totally lost when it comes to choosing a cheap Inductance meter, ideally as i am based in the UK a supplier in this country would be the best option.

As you can tell i dont have a real clue on what to look for when buying ones,so can anyone help me please on what i require,it dont want the best on the m,arket as it would only be used just a few times.

    Thanks

Check here; http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...7-18-LCR-Meter for the one I got only $18!.

I was in the same boat, just needed a cheap meter to measure a few coils. I'm happy with this one.

I've seen cheapo's going for up to $100. I think they all use a similar chip in them these days. The
readings are repeatable and hopefully accurate enough for our needs.

I've used $2000 meters and they can be complicated/too accurate. This one seems good for the home
user. The scale for PI type coils is only 2 digits though. That's OK for me as I want to know if it's 100 uh
    or 500 uh....
