Inductance meter.

Has anyone built and tried this circuit?

I'm at the point where I need to locate 2 inductors to calibrate it and thought I'd ask if it's worth using. I should of asked before I started.

All $15 cheap Chinese LC meters would be better than this.

Useful as step in DIY learning curve in first line.

I wonder what is inside those cheap Chinese LC meters ? The price is very attractive for a novice. And far cheaper than any of the self built pic/mcu based ones that you can find construction details for on some ham radio sites, when you factor in time and effort...

It is hard to compete Chinese with DIY in this field.

As cheap as $10 Chinese RLC meter model 4070L look from inside like this:



It is good enough for "homemade" coil builder needs. It even has transistor hFE measurement.
