  • Hatachi V-355 Oscilloscope

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Hatachi V-355 35 Mhz oscilloscope. Would this work for building detectors without having to up grade unless I wanted to. I have found one close by to where I live for $100.00 ( US ) but do not know anything about them as I am looking my first scope.

    Thanks for any help

it should be ok, 35mhz is enough for our uses.
just make sure it works ok, also make sure it has two channels, single channel ones are too limited.
quite a lot of older analogue scopes have mods to increase the mhz rating, but 35 is good, i would say 2 channel 20mhz as a minimum.

I have a V-212 which is quite sufficient, so V-355 should be too.

Thanks guys, I read somewhere on here Qiaozhi told someone the Ms/s was to low. Do not know what it is on this machine so that was a concern I had but seams this will work fine.
        Thanks again.

Don't worry your Hatachi "Ms/s" is higher possible.

We were discussing a different scope.
Anyway, the Hitachi V-355 is (I believe) an analog scope, so there is no sampling taking place, and therefore the idea of Ms/s is meaningless.

Thanks Qiaozhi, That's how it is listed as analog.
Hopefully I can pick this scope up and start learning how it works and more about how detectors work.
