3A 24V transformer

Before I go out and buy one.

Can anyone think of anything I can salvage one from. Years ago I remember a big toroidal bolted to a chassis for the life of me I can't remember what it was in.

Maybe in truck Accu charger or in small telephone central.

It was in a 1U rackmount case but I don't remember the manufacturer.

Good idea. See if I can acquire one free

Ended up making my own out of an old microwave transformer. Cut the secondary out and wound some solid core electricity cable in its place until the output volts measured correct.

way over the 3A needed for this PSU but its there if needed for another project
