TEKTRONIX 314 Storage / OSCILLOSCOPE

I am learning electronics as I go I have successfully built a couple of PI detectors but haven't used an Oscilloscope are any of you more experienced guys familiar with this Scope, a family members is giving it to me but I am not sure if it would be useful
I found the manual online and am willing to give it a go. What do you think?

That should work OK for most stuff on metal detectors. It's not too fast but does have 2 channels!
