There is a video on Youtube showing how. It seems you just solder a wire on bottom of board bypassing a resistor/cap.

I've bought this kit:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DSO138-2-4-T...sAAOSwMNxXXoHJ
but with SMD unsoldered and without case. homepage states that these are fake, not originalsome chinese ripping off other chinese.
it is noisy, but usable.

first thing i did i run by superglue on edge slits of a display. just cause i have bad experience with TFTs that its are not so good sealed at edges in layers.
i killed two TFTs by flux and sealent.

Received the DSO150 kit the other day. Funky you have to work on the main PCB with the TFE Flopping around. Instructions tell you as step one to power the main board up before step 2 thru 7 putting components in place. LOL. No time to mess with it . Working on the Car. .,,..Hope I didn't mess up the LCD before finding out it flops.

With some luck you can draw some schematic from it and built it.
(btw. kt315, I did not follow any of your advices for these pix
the pictures were taken inside a room, macro-mode & flashlight)
LEDs shining red -> yellow -> green
2,4v red weak
3,6v red medium
4,8v red medium, yellow weak
6v red medium, yellow bright
7,2v red medium, yellow bright, green weak
8,4v red medium, yellow bright, green medium
The connection through the diode was connected with the device
and the push-button doesn't interrupts it. This is good because
batteries which are providing just some mA for LEDs look "full"
while reality might be totally different if they have to "work"
(when they have to provide something like 100 or 200 mA).
