What if you reinstall/upgrade the firmware.maybe problem is resolved.

The original was a DSO138, the idiot seller sent it to me in only a plastic bag, I bought another DSO138 from another seller it was better packaged and survived the shipping, works ok, I also bought the plastic case, but that arrived with lots of broken pieces so trying to get refund .

Can it transfer screen to PC as bitmap file via a serial connection?
I see the dso-062 can do it. This is good. 1mhz bandwidth, 1ch

USB is none functional on this model and as far as I know the serial can only be used for flashing

Got mine yesterday, and yes if you connect it to usb it wouldnt get powered from there. However i still do not try connecting it with external power. Will let you know soon.

External power is only way to power them that I know of.
