At last a 18650 battery holder for longer protected cells, that fit easily

For those people that use protected 18650 cells they would know that they are a bit longer
than unprotected 18650 cells.

Because the protected cells are longer its hard to find a suitable holder that you dont have to struggle with
to get the cells in and out.

I have bought a variety of different holders but they were all too short and the cells had to be prised out of the holder to charge,
you can solder the leads to a small pcb charger which I will do in the future, but for now I am externally charging each cell.

At last I have found a single 18650 battery holder for longer protected cells, that fit in easily and come out easy.
they are branded "CGS" on the inside of the holder.

Nice find, I ended up printing my own out as could not find anything suitable, but mine not as thin in the walls as these that you posted , thanks

All these are c.r.a.p. Plastic cheap ones, don't hold the batteries too well.
Use Keystone 54, you need 2 of those and you can adjust the distance between the pair to suit your needs.
They need 3 point PCB holes to mount. Check up with the datasheet if you need footprint.

I use this kind of holder (3X), only drawback is that if you want to solder thicker wires the plastic around the pad will melt. And one time, using one cell from laptop with the insulation little damaged around positive made shortcircuit and almost caught fire.

My branded "CGS" 18650 holder's arrived today, they hold the protected cells nice and tight, wires are a tad thin but gotta live with that.
